Semi independent living

  • Young people in and leaving care often need additional support before being ready to live independently.
  • We provide a range of semi-independent living (SIL) services for young people in and leaving care including young parents and their child/ren and Unaccompanied Asylum Seeking Children (UASC). Our SIL services operate on a spot purchase basis enabling us to work with any local authority to provide suitable support and accommodation to a young person aged 16-21.
  • These services are flexible to adapt to a young person’s changing support needs and we can offer a range of flexible support packages. Our teams work closely with the young person’s social worker or personal advisor to ensure that we are supporting local authorities with their corporate parenting responsibility.
  • We have a trauma-informed and person-centred approach to support and encourage young people to co-produce our services from planning activities to defining service agreements to choosing curtain colours. If you would like to find out more, or make a referral please visit the Young People referral section to contact a member of our team.
  • Care leavers or looked after children (over 16)
  • Overcoming addiction
  • Unaccompanied Asylum Seeking Children (UASC)
  • Experiencing family or relationship breakdown

We specialise in housing and support

for young people, homeless families and individuals, people with physical disabilities, learning disabilities and people with mental health needs. We also run two domestic abuse services and support services for older people and those with dementia.

We encourage and motivate people to do as much as they can for themselves, by helping them to gain practical and cognitive skills through personalised support.

The people we support have choice and control in their lives and a voice which shapes our services, based on their views and preferences. We provide support so that people can move on to live independently or provide permanent accommodation with support, when complete independence isn’t possible. We strive to help people live happy and fulfilling lives.

Supported Living

  • Most people that access our service are diagnosed with learning or physical disabilities and they are helped through our supported living services. The level of support varies dependent on people’s needs – we offer support ranging from 24 hour-support to agree few hours daily.
  • Sometimes we provide the support in a property where we are the landlord, other times we deliver our service in a building leased and managed by the organisation.
  • These services are often for individuals who may be stepping down from residential care, or higher support accommodation placements. They aim to support customers to further develop their independent living skills in a safe, supportive environment.
  • Our floating and visiting support services support people in their own homes. Customers may have varying levels of disability, including physical and sensory needs and live-in different types of accommodation.
  • Our support may include arranging for health/ medical, Housing applications, Welfare benefit, statutory social services, probation appointments, and other appointments.
